In 2014 the topic of the annual PhUSE conference will be "Data Transparency".

The main theme will focus on 'Data Transparency'.

Initiatives are starting to emerge from regulatory agencies and some large companies alike, leaving no doubt change is nearing. This hot topic was already addressed in some streams of the 2013 conference as well as by one of our keynote speakers who explained how transparency would help to improve patients’ lives.

With data at the heart of our work there is no doubt that this will impact our day-to-day lives. In addition, the conference has grown from a Statistical Programmers specific event to one gathering all data professionals in the industry (Data Managers, Statisticians, PK/PD specialists, health outcome and economics specialists, …) and this theme will once again reinforce this trend.

The 2014 conference will consolidate new elements of the Brussels 2013 conference such as Therapeutic Area Workshops focusing on indications, diseases and data analysis, not forgetting the re-activated University Day. Of course everything that made PhUSE so successful over the years will also be continued (and improved): Our specific streams remain the backbone of the conference, our inspiring Keynote Speakers will kick off the conference, the Discussion Clubs are opening the floor for discussions on relevant subjects, new topics will be identified for our popular Hands-on Workshops and of course the conference remains this unique opportunity to network and share knowledge with colleagues and friends and ultimately information will continue to be shared through the Wiki.

Patients were brought to the forefront of the Brussels conference. Together, let’s make sure this key element remains a core value and doesn’t just end up as yet another conference theme!

How to publish a Conference Wiki

General guidelines on how to publish a Wiki can be found in the general Wiki Author Training.

There are different options if you want to publish a Wiki for the Budapest conference.

  1. Publish a Wiki in addition to a static PDF paper
  2. Publish a Wiki instead of a static PDF paper

You also should decide if you want to open your Wiki for global collaboration prior to the conference or after the conference. In either way you should let your stream chair know your decision. Your stream chair can lock your Wiki so that it cannot be changed by other users (including yourself).

Wiki in addition to a PDF paper

If you want to publish a Wiki in addition to a PDF paper the easiest way to avoid redundancies is to publish a Wiki where you briefly summarize your paper and add a link to your paper. You also can upload your PDF to the Wiki and refer to it.

After the creation of the Wiki please let your stream chair know if you want your Wiki to be locked for changes prior to the conference.

An example for an open Wiki in addition to a PDF can be found here: Review of Statistical Analysis Plans (Summary).

An example for a locked Wiki in addition to a PDF can be found here: Review of Statistical Analysis Plans (Summary locked).

In all cases please keep the title of your Wiki consistent with your paper title from the call for paper system.

Wiki instead of a PDF paper

If you want to publish a Wiki instead of a static PDF paper you have to publish all your content on the Wiki prior to the conference. After the creation of the Wiki please let your stream chair know if you want your Wiki to be locked for changes prior to the conference.

An example for an open Wiki instead of a PDF can be found here: Review of Statistical Analysis Plans.
