A teleconference and webex was conducted on 13 November 2015. B Knight from Boehringer Ingelheim presented screen shots from the Image Minor software tool. Image Minor is primarily used for histopathology morphometric analysis. However, SEND datasets can be converted into a format accessable by Image Minor (time consuming) for conducting pairwise comparisons across data domains. For example, organ weights, histopath findings and clinical lab data can be compared against one-another in X-Y plots. Data across multiple domains can be selected for X-Y plot analysis with multiple thumbnail graphs produced for visual inspection. Pairwise comparisons can be evaluated for trends. The Image Minor screen shots were placed on the wiki home-page. A Brown from Novartis provided the results of a survey conducted by K Wuersch of Novartis at the European Society of Toxicologic Pathology in September 2015. A total of 69 individuals participated in the survey of which 55 are pathologists. The survey focused on the use of graphical displays for analyzing/presenting histopathology data, and the results obtained were consisent with those from this team's internal survey. Primary support for the use of graphical displays appears to be as a communication tool, followed by hypothesis testing, especially incorporating large data sets across multiple studies. The survey results are placed on the wiki home page. Registration is now open for the FDA PhUSE Computational Sciences Symposium which has limited space available and will be held March 13-15, 2016 in Silver Spring, MD. Abstact submissions for posters are due Jan 15, 2016. The team will prepare at least one abstract for a poster presentation and will commence work on this. A Brown will initiate the first draft, which will be distributed prior to the next meeting on Dec 4, 2015. The abstract needs to provide conclusions or recommendations as a primary deliverable for the team. The poster will first be prepared using PowerPoint slides, followed by formating. Input/feedback in the abstract and poster is required to be listed as a co-author.
